is an amazing film from 1934. at the time 1 in 13 women in shanghai were sex workers. its interesting to me that not much has changed in 80 years. the shaming, the exploiters, the fear of loosing children.....and the amazing choices of a woman facing few choices at all...
i would love to hear people's thoughts after watching this....
