Now, the "search" funtion is gone again...Yes they're still tweaking the new Babble, but why would THAT go away?

Also, are there any estimates about when they'll be done with the fiddling and adjusting and all that and the new iteration of the site will be at full functionality?

MegB

I know it's frustrating Ken. I was expecting the major issues - search and messaging - would be resolved by the time I got back. I've been in touch with management and tech. I hope there'll be resolution soon. I've stressed how important these functions are from both babbler and moderator experience on the site. As soon as I know more I'll let everyone know. I feel badly that I wasn't here to advocate, but if I waited for the perfect time to take a break, it'd never happen. On the plus side you had Oldgoat in your corner. Many thanks to him for covering for me. I hope you didn't tease him too mercilessly.

Ken Burch

Thanks, MegB.  Hope the trip was ok.

They were merciless with me Meg.  Most days I wept myself to sleep.  Anyhoo, I was in communication with the powers that be, and was given assurances that it was being worked on. I've been around for all the changes and upgrades, and this is actually smoother tham most.

..you made me laugh :)

..every time i try and reach babble my security blocks me. probably an end of year thing. a switch over to '22. so see you in the new year!

Pondering

Same here.

Something could go wrong in 2021? Aside from plagues, heat domes, floods, forest fires, rising fascism, etc ..?  If this continues in 2022 we should be looking forward to Prime Minister Maxime Bernier's first throne speech. But my guess is that the Year of the Tiger will be a much, much, much better year than the years of the ox and rat were.

..rabble's security certificate expiered 3 days ago which is why my browser security keeps blocking me. if it the certificate isn't renewed i'll set up another browser. librewolf i'm thinking. a good security browser from the get go.

Ken Burch

They've fixed it now, epaulo13.

epaulo13

..cool. txs ken!

MegB

Yes, it was an expired security certificate, and because of the holidays it took a little longer than usual to apply a fix. The main rabble site was, however, subject to a cyber attack over Christmas. Our publisher spent much of Christmas day sorting that out, but it's nothing we haven't dealt with before.

Pondering

What a shame, about the attack I mean and that people had to work over the holiday to deal with it.
