the "support our troops" trick

Who doesnt support our troops? Surely only traitors and the despicable.

Which makes it the perfect trope. Canadians across the country were given sickers and signs by the millions to signal their support for our troops... where? In Afghanistan, in Iraq, in other wartorn regions around the world? (Yes I know we didnt send troops into the Iraqi war, but canadian forces provided support, even if it was just doing laundry)

How many Canadians still think our armed forces are exclusively peacekeepers? How many Canadians affixed these stickers to their vehicles believing that?

The Harper conservatives were underhanded in many things, including the "partnership in prosperity" adjenda Harper pushed to basically invite the US to annex our country, but this"support our troops" trick was very smart. After all, who doesnt profess to care about our young people risking their lives for our country?

With those hazy meanings, the Conservatives were able to enable visual popular support for war.

I used to put another sticker on when I got really fed up with seeing those disingenuous words: "Support our troops" - bring them home! Keep them out of corporate wars for greed!

4 1/2 cups of water & 1 cup of flour, heated to just below boiling, mixed well, will produce a glue that sticks to virtually anything, solid as a rock.

If you will.
