Have we abandoned the rule of law in Canada?
Is it ok now for John/Jane Q Public to be judge, jury and executioner?
Some useful principles of a legal system -1) the accused is told of the charges and has a chance to defend themselves; 2) for equal crimes the punishment will be equal 3 the intent of the action is an important concept in determining guilt ; ie, if someone purposely harms someone is this not worse than accidentally harming someone (thus the difference between murder and manslaughter).
A popularity contest seems to be the latest requirement for survival.
